A Fluidised bed is a piece of equipment that makes use of fluidisation to perform some process on particulates. Most commonly a fluid bed dryer which is used in Oral Solid Dose Manufacturing to dry wet granules.
Fluidised bed technology can also be used in Pharmaceutical Manufacture using Water For Injection as a fluidisation medium to act as a Clean In Place process for Beads, the same fluidisation process can be used with dry heat to dry the medium before Sterilisation.
