A downflow booth (Commonly called a Dispensing booth, when used for dispensing) is a piece of equipment usually a few metres squared in size that produces an area under top-down UDAF. A downflow booth is typically in a Manufacturing process, for a couple of purposes

  1. Protect the product when vessels (Or any Sanitary container) are opened
  2. Protect the operator from ingesting harmful particles such as Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient during addition.

As downflow booths are commonly used for handling powders, it is a common requirement for these to be ATEX rated.
