Depyrogenation is the process of removing or destroying pyrogens, typically required for parental dose forms. Depyrogenation is commonly completed through Dry Heat Sterilisation such as a Depyrogenation Oven. The FDA has defined limits for pyrogen free product (currently 5EU/Kg for non-intrathecal parental drugs).
